Dear Science Olympiad Coach
Jeffrey Trail Middle School is excited to host its 1st Science Olympiad Division B Invitational Tournament at Portola High School on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Portola High School is in Irvine, California, about 20 miles south of Disneyland. This invitational tournament is a great way to prepare your team for the upcoming regional and state tournaments.
The Jeffrey Trail Invitational is open to all Division B teams. Schools are welcome to have additional teams entered (B team/ JV teams). Teams will only be considered officially-registered once the registration form and payment are received. Each team is expected to set up and run one event, including writing the tests, bringing all the necessary equipment and materials for the tests, and scoring the tests, etc.
At the end of the day, each team will receive a packet of their students’ tests along with the blank tests and answer keys for each event. Please rank your choices of events you would like to run from 1st to 6th on the registration form. Events will be assigned on a first come-first served basis after the team becomes officially-registered.
Medals will be awarded to the top 6 places for each event as well as trophies to the top 6 overall schools. Jeffrey Trail teams are eligible for the event medals, but not for the top 6 overall trophies. A hospitality room will also be available for coaches and volunteers.
